ROX

Treatment plant using activated sludge with extended aeration of domestic wastewater

ROX is an activated sludge system with extended aeration that delivers purified water of excellent quality. The treatment principle consists of putting into contact the biomass (composed of aerobic bacteria that develop in the presence of oxygen), substances it feeds on (organic material in the water to be treated and which is the source of the pollution) and the air supplied by small compressors. Unlike the DECANROX, it doesn’t have a primary decanter and the water to be treated comes into direct contact with the oxygen.

BIOLOGICAL TREATMENT STAGES

  • Roughing:

The thick solids carried by the water are intercepted by a gate at the entrance of the equipment. For small populations, due to the great variability of the tributary, it is recommended to install a previous decanter.

  • Biological oxidation:

In the biological reactor, the biological decomposition of organic matter takes place thanks to the supply of air and the generation of aerobic microorganisms.

  • Settling:

The sludge resulting from the decomposition of organic matter is calmed down and deposited inside the decanter. The settled sludge is recirculated back to the reactor by pumping or air-lift for the 5-15 H.E models.
