Biological perculator filters

Bacterial beds of a specific mass of material (50 to 160 m2· m-3) serving as substrate for the microorganisms that form a film of variable thickness on it. They represent an extra treatment to the septic tanks, obtaining higher treatment performances.

The pretreated water is uniformly streamed over the bacterial bed of the percolator filter by means of distribution pipes. This bed is composed of a high-performance plastic substrate where aerobic bacteria colonies form that break down the organic material in the wastewater.
